WHAT IS AN ICF CREDENTIAL ?

An ICF Credential is a professional certification indicating that you An ICF Credential is a professional certification indicating that you have met specific standards and requirements designed to develop and refine your coaching skills. It is an indication that you are dedicated to upholding strong principles of ethical behavior in coaching. An ICF Credential shows your clients and peers that you are committed to the coaching industry and to developing yourself as a coaching professional.

  • Holding a credential – especially an ICF Credential – is extremely important to today’s coaching clients. The 2022 Global Consumer Awareness Study found that 85% of coaching clients say it’s important or very important that their coach holds a certification or credential. Earning an ICF Credential provides you with instant credibility and increased visibility to prospective clients.
  • ICF offers three credentials, corresponding with the quantity of education and experience required to earn it. The credentials are:
    • Associate Certified Coach (ACC) – Completed 60 hours of coach specific education and 100 hours of client coaching experience
    • Professional Certified Coach (PCC) – Completed 125 hours of coach specific education and 500 hours of client coaching experience
    • Master Certified Coach (MCC) – Hold or have held a PCC Credential, completed 200 hours of coach specific education and 2,500 hours of client coaching experience

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR YOU TO BE A ICF ACC ?

  • Completion of the Coach Certification program that qualifies the requirement of the ICF Standards
  • Perseverance to transform yourself by learning Coaching skills through practice. 4 months of Intensive training, 4hrs per week
  • Commitment of 6 to 12 months depending on the speed that you put in your efforts for practice
  • 80% attendance in completing the training sessions
  • Self coaching and reflective practice
  • Peer coaching to coach ourselves during the process of learning coaching skills to experience coaching and its impact in self
  • Completion and Pass percentage for the ICF credentialling Exam
  • Passing the performance Evaluation of the Audio recording done by DeeKay Excellence through ACTP Level 1 Accreditation
  • Applying for the ICF Credentials through the certificate provided by DeeKay Excellence

CREDENTIALS RENEWAL PROCEDURE

  • Credentials are valid for 3 years post which it needs to be renewed with ICF with required CCEs
  • Completion of at least 40 hours of Continuing Coach Education in the three years since the initial award of your credential or since your last credential renewal. Of the 40 hours of CCEs required:
    • At least 24 CCEs must be in Core Competencies
    • At least three (3) of those hours must be in coaching ethics. (Coaches can obtain coaching ethics hours by completing ICF’s free Ethics course online)
    • Remaining 16 hours can be in Resource Development or Core Competencies
  • TIP : Up to 10 hours of Mentor Coaching (giving or receiving) AND up to 10 hours of Coaching Supervision (giving or receiving) may be used towards the required 40 CCEs for renewal and count as Core Competency credits
